About: CMHA is a national, non-profit organization that works with individuals, families and community partners in Peterborough, providing services to promote and enhance the mental health and wellness of those living within the community. CMHA offers a variety of different programs that cater to specific mental health and mental illness initiatives. Most of CMHA’s services are offered FREE of charge.

About: Four County Crisis offers four distinct programs and services available for Trent students and the Peterborough community: a 24/7 Telephone Crisis Intervention, for anyone distressed. A Mobile Crisis Intervention, where a counselor comes to where you are and helps you through the crisis you are experiencing. A Crisis Stabilization/Safe Beds service, for those who are struggling in their current living environment. Maximum stay is anywhere from 1 to 10 days but not everyone is guaranteed admission. And the Short-Term Case Management service. A counsellor works with you for 10 weeks or less on specific goals. For more information about these services visit the website. Age and location requirement: Available to anyone 16 and up living in the catchment areas of Peterborough, Haliburton, City of Kawartha Lakes, and Northumberland.

About:PRHC is a hospital that has a capacity of 494 beds, one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Ontario, and an extensive range of services. For department-specific information, please visit the Patient Care Services section of the PRHC website. PRHC offers seven different programs and services dealing with mental health. It is open 24/7 and most services are covered by OHIP.

Adult Mental Health Services
About: Located in the hospital, Adult Mental Health Services provides a variety of programs offered to the general program. Every Friday at 1p.m. there is a drop-in crisis group. With a referral from a doctor, counselor, etc., people are welcome to partake in 10-week classes that deal with various issues; anxiety, depression, bi-polar, living skills, family education, concurrent disorders, mindfulness. All programs and services are covered by OHIP.

About: PSS works with those living in the Peterborough area who are struggling finding proper resources to live life to their full capacity. They offer a variety of services and programs including help with shelter, finding employment, community social planning, food costs and addiction services, to help you in your pursuits. Services are Free of Charge for Canadian citizens.
