Employment Planning and Counselling & Job Connect

About: Offer a job placement program from April to October. Trent students can use the resource center for FREE all year round. There are always 2 counselors on staff who are able to assist and counsel you in the job search.

Hours of Operation: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Peterborough Service Canada Centre

About: Peterborough Service Canada Centre provides you with access to government websites, printed government publications and forms, and government programs. The service acts as a navigator, directing people to government services that will help them. PSCC helps students between 15 and 30 find employment, as well as access to employers looking for a particular demographic. These services are FREE of charge. They also provide people with social insurance numbers if you need to replace yours or get a new one for a $10 fee. Proper documentation is required. PSCC works on a first come first serve basis so making an appointment is unnecessary.

Hours of Operation: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Fridays.

The Reach Centre

About: The Reach Centre offers employment assessment and counselling for people returning to or looking for work. They specialize in helping people with barriers to employment develop and implement action plans. They offer job search support and referral to appropriate employment service or vocational training program including Employment Ontario-funded programs such as Job Creation Partnerships, Self-Employment Benefits, Skills Development, and Targeted Wage Subsidy. Service is FREE of charge and available to all Trent students.

Peterborough Community Help Centre – Peterborough Social Services

About: The Peterborough Community Help Centre is a self-help centre which provides current resource materials, equipment and professional assistance from qualified staff to individuals conducting a self-directed job search. PCHC will collect resumes on your behalf to fill specific job vacancies, assist with planning and organizing job fairs, provide up to date local Labour Market information. All of these services are FREE of charge to any member of the Peterborough community, including Trent students.
